Baby Root Canals, What are They?
Baby root canals are recommended when decay has reached the inner portion of the tooth, called the dental pulp. When this occurs, it may cause the tooth to be sensitive or uncomfortable. Although this has the same name as the adult “root canal," the baby tooth treatment is much quicker, lasting about 30 minutes. Decay will be removed, the dental pulp will be treated and the preferred restoration is typically a pediatric crown.
