Dr. Nick Miner was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Being immersed in University of Arizona sporting events, he thought he might one day be a part of the “Wildcat" family. However, this thought was put to an end when Dr. Nick visited the campus of University of Colorado, Boulder. He instantly fell in love with the energy, beauty and outdoor life Colorado had to offer. Graduating with a BA in Integrative Physiology, Dr. Nick was determined to follow his dream of becoming a dentist.
Following college, Dr. Nick attended Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine. In addition to his commitment to his dental education, Dr. Nick engrossed himself in many extra-curricular activities. These activities included being an executive member of the American Student Dental Association chapter, establishing a dental sealant program at inner-city elementary schools and volunteering his time and dental services at a dental clinic in Nicaragua.
After dental school, Dr. Nick was eager to learn more about dentistry and thus completed a residency in Hospital Dentistry and Advanced Dental Education at the University of Colorado, Anschutz campus. During this residency, he expanded his skill set, enhanced his dental knowledge-base and became excited to begin his career as a dentist. Also during the residency, Dr. Nick completed a rotation at the Children's Hospital. This is when he realized his true passion for pediatric dentistry. He knew pediatric dentistry was his calling but was interested to test the waters of general dentistry first. Dr. Nick practiced for 3 years as a general dentist, treating children when he could. Again he realized that treating children fulfilled him and made him even more zealous about his career. For that reason, Dr. Nick up-rooted his family to return to Boston to excel in a pediatric dental residency.
Dr. Nick completed his residency in Advanced Graduate Studies of pediatric dentistry at Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine. His diverse training opportunities included treating patients at a special needs hospital and community health clinics as well as teaching at the university. These various experiences have enabled Dr. Nick to be comfortable and competent with treating patients of all ages, backgrounds and those with special needs. Additionally, he prides himself on remaining current with the most recent literature and knowledge in pediatric dentistry through regular continuing education courses and constant journal reading. Throughout his career, Dr. Nick has strongly believed that all recommendations he makes to patients should match those he would make to his family members, including his own son and twin daughters.
After over 20 years of dental education and work experience, plus moving between two different states, Dr. Nick and his family are happy to call Lone Tree home. Dr. Nick is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. As a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Nick is committed to high quality, compassionate and conservative dental care for your child.
